"S'up?"
The Greeting of Equals.
Greatness isn't always measured by a scoreboard, a GPA, or a varsity jacket. Sometimes, the most profound achievements happen when we simply decide to show up for one another.
Come Off the Fence.
To the students watching from the bleachers, walking the halls, or sticking to the familiar circles: it is easy to stay where you are comfortable. It takes zero effort to look away. But the best parts of your high school experience are waiting on the other side of your hesitation.
Right now, our Life Skills and Special Education students are on the court. They are students with autism, Down syndrome, physical disabilities, and incredibly diverse abilities. They aren't looking for charity. They aren't looking for pity. They are looking for teammates.
Stepping onto the court with them requires humility. It requires you to leave your ego at the gym doors. When you stop worrying about how you look, you open yourself up to the most authentic relationships you will ever form. You'll discover the shared, absolute joy of a made shot. You'll give high-fives that actually mean something.
We are all built differently, but the value of a person is universal. When we play together, we normalize that value.
This website exists to honor accomplishments that matter. Soon, every student—from alternative education to life skills to regular education—will have a space here to share their story, their work, and their growth with employers, families, and friends.
